As you get back to your fall routines and busy schedules, we hope you will find the WMS PTO a great partner and a useful source of information for the school year. Each week we will send out the WMS PTO Weekly Email which includes key dates and important messages from the PTO committees, and school staff.
As your WMS PTO Co-Presidents, we are excited to work with you to support the students & teachers and to continue building the wonderful WMS community. But we can’t do this without you! Want to make the most of the school year and help enrich the educational experience of all our WMS children? Here’s how - stay informed, support the PTO and get involved!
Attend a meeting: During the year the PTO sponsors key meetings for parents. We have lined up some great speakers but if you have an amazing topic or speaker idea, we would like to hear from you, please email us. The full PTO calendar will be available on our website but save the date now for a few key meetings:
-- Thursday, 9/7, 8:45-9:45am: Welcome Coffee with Principal Mark Ito. Join us in the Kingsbury Street courtyard for an informal meet & greet with Principal Mark Ito, Head of Guidance Kate Mahoney & other WMS administrators. (Rain location is the cafeteria).
-- Friday, 9/22 from 6-9pm: All Grade WMS Parent Social at The Local – A fun way to meet / re-connect with other WMS Parents. Join us for this annual all-grades drop-in social. Light fare served. Casual attire. Always a great time! The Local, 11 Forest Street, Wellesley. No RSVP necessary.
Register and confirm your information in the WMS PTO directory. This puts you on the mailing list for our weekly PTO Email Blasts. If you haven’t registered, you'll miss out on key updates.
Please send in your annual donation pledge. This is the only major fundraiser that we do, and we depend on your donations to make the school year a success by funding key events (i.e. Mini Marathon, Turkey Promenade, School Dances, Year End Activities) and support development of students and staff (i.e. Creative Arts & Sciences, Professional Development resources).
Volunteer: There are many volunteer opportunities throughout the year, both big and small, where we need assistance. It’s a great way to be part of your child’s WMS experience.
